A Chukar is a specific type of partridge. These birds are raised in California. They are lean, flavorful, and provide a delicate white meat that tastes very similar to a high-quality Cornish game hen or refined chicken. Highly nutritious, it provides a lean, low-fat source of protein loaded with essential amino acids and B vitamins.
Because they’re small birds it’s not possible to debone these birds. We process them similar to our quail, where they’re partially deboned and then ground. Products with bone are not always suitable for animals with CKD or digestive issues.
